Direct Service Worker Tik Tok Challenge
At the conference ADvancing States will be hosting a panel discussion of direct service workers (DSW) and direct service professionals (DSP) to highlight the crucial work they perform daily to support the aging and disabilities community. With the attention that was gained from the 2018 "This is Me" video contest, we want to expand our outreach through popular social media channels such as Tik Tok and Instagram.
We are asking DSW's and DSP's to create a "day-in-the-life" video on either of these platforms to showcase the tasks and responsibilities that you perform to ensure the well-being of the client. Some of these activities may include cooking, cleaning, administering necessary medication, or accompanying individuals to and from their appointments pertaining to their health. The first prize winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the 2022 HCBS Conference for themselves and one of their clients along with a $2,500 prize, the second prize winner will receive $1,000, and the third prize winner will receive $500.
